Description
For the establishment of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program (IPP) titled “Counseling,” the following departments collaborated:
- The Department of Early Childhood Education of the School of Education Sciences at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens,
- The Department of Social Work of the School of Social, Political, and Economic Sciences at Democritus University of Thrace, and
- The Department of Psychology of the School of Social Sciences at the University of Crete.
Purpose of the IPP
The Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program (IPP) aims to provide high-level postgraduate education in the scientific field of counseling, addressing contemporary interdisciplinary concerns and the needs of Greek society for specialized knowledge in:
- Educational Counseling
- Counseling Psychology
- Counseling in Social Work
Objectives
The program focuses on:
- The theoretical education and training in principles, philosophy, application fields, and the design of counseling interventions.
- The practical and experiential training of students.
- Their involvement in reflective processes.
- The development of research-oriented thinking, inquiry, and methodology.
Degree Awarded
The program leads to the award of a Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Counseling with three available specializations:
- Counseling in Education
- Counseling Psychology
- Counseling in Social Work
